System Change Not Climate Change is a limited edition book featuring 35 photographs created between 2014-2016. The book was made on the occasion of System Change Not Climate Change an exhibition at Doomed Gallery; 65 Ridley Road, London E8 2NP, United Kingdom, Opening October 13TH from 6-9PM on view through Sunday October 16th 2016. Voelker has been photographing protest movements in the US and this edit is a raw and exciting document of the voice and visual image of change. Voelker regularly attends demonstrations focusing on social justice in New York City and in 2015 he also traveled the proposed route of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, visiting protests against the construction on and easements of land. In July 2016 he documented demonstrations at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. While at the RNC in Cleveland on an assignment for VICE, Voelker met hip-hop artist, activist and writer, Bun B and the two worked together throughout both conventions. When they weren’t marching and interviewing they were sharing their views on activism and the fight for social justice. Bun B wrote an inspiring introduction to accompany Voelker’s photographs in the limited edition book, System Change Not Climate Change.
